Meet the Professional
Shellie Clinkscales is the Owner & Founder of Legacy Leadership Co., LLC, a coaching practice dedicated to serving women in law enforcement. Her work focuses on individual and relationship coaching designed to support those navigating the personal, relational, and leadership demands of a career in law enforcement. Through a structured, future-focused coaching approach, Shellie helps women in law enforcement and their partners build clarity, stregthen connections, and lead purposeful lives both on and off duty. Legacy Leadership Co. was founded to address the unique needs of this profession with respect, understanding, and strategic guidance.
Shellie's professional foundation includes a decade of experience as a psychotherapist, supported by an Ed.S. in Marriage, Family, and Couples Counseling from the University of South Carolina. While this background provides deep insight into behavior and relational patterns, her work revealed many individuals are not seeking clinical treatment but external support and a trusted coaching partner. This epiphany led to a strategic pivot into coaching, reinforced by her Certified Professional Coach certification from the University of Georgia School of Continuing Education. This certification equips her with the latest coaching framework.
In addition to her coaching credentials, Shellie holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology, with a minor in Criminology, and has facilitated classes in partnership with the juvenile court system. This experience enhanced her understanding of law enforcement culture, institutional dynamics, and the pressures inherent in the justice system. Combined with her training in relational dynamics, it enables her to coach women in law enforcement with credibility, clarity, and an informed perspective that honors both the profession and the person behind the badge.
The Legacy Approach is the framework that guides Shellie's practice. Designed specifically for women in law enforcement, it provides a structured, future-focused process for navigating career demands, strengthening relationships, and leading with clarity. Through individual coaching, relationship coaching, and The Legacy Collective, a coaching cohort, the Legacy Approach fosters clarity, connection, and sustainable leadership that carries through both professional and personal life.
Whether you’re navigating a career transition, strengthening a relationship, stepping into leadership, rediscovering yourself, or pereparing for your next chapter, Shellie provides women in law enforcement with guidance through individual coaching, relationship coaching, and The Legacy Collective, offering support that is clear, prpfessional, and intentional.

Who I Work With
I work exclusively with women in law enforcement:
- Professionals at all stages of their careers
- Couples navigating the personal and relational demands of the profession
- Leaders seeking clarity, balance, and intentional growth within law enforcement
Meet the Person
Okay, real talk. Talking about myself in the third person is weird. So let’s just be humans for a second. I’m the wife of a Navy veteran, mother, and grandmother, and somewhere along the journey I became a serious podcast consumer and a committed shopaholic… though not necessarily in that order.
Even though I help women in law enforcement design their future and navigate big pivots, I’m also a very real person who loves good stories, meaningful connections, and discovering little joys in everyday life. I’m a psychology-thriller junkie. I love the twists, the suspense, and trying to figure out what’s really going on in someone’s mind. And the other love of my life? My bed. It’s a love affair my husband is okay with, mostly. Honestly, give me a dark thriller and a cozy blanket, and I'm on my happy place, Shh, just don't tell him.
Seriously, more real talk. There was a time in when law enforcement wasn't just I admired, it was a dream. That dream was forever changed after the tragic death of a law enforcement officer 23 years ago. That loss shook me. My husdand was concerned and it forced a difficult conversation about safety, purpose, and the risk that come with wearing the badge. And truthfully, after that, life for me took a different turn. But here is what I leaned: when one door closes, purpose doesn't disapper, it evolves. I may not have worn the uniform, but my heart never left the women who do, I understand the calling, I understand the sacrifice, and deeply understand what it feels like to have your plans rerouted by lif. That's why I now stand firmly in support of women in law enforcement, especially those navigating career shifts, promotion, burnout, reinvention or returning after time away.
My passion for helping people move forward comes from knowing what it feels like to stand ath the intersection of change. I know the fear, the uncertainity, and the "Who am I now?" question, as well as the courage it take to seek support and an accountability partner. That's why my role in the world is helping you step into your next chapter, without apologizing, shrinking, or waiting for permission. Think of me as your personal future-focused navigator, part GPS, part cheerleader, and part strategic bestie who tells you the truth and occasionally says, “Nope, not that way!"
Ultimately, growth doesn't require more effort; it requires clearer direction. We'll do meaningful work together. We'll build clarity, confidence, and careers goals you're proud of, without losing yourself in the process. And we'll laugh along the way probably about love, life, and the chaos in between, and definitely abot how sacred bedtime really is. I'm honored to walk alongside you.
What Guides My Work
- Respect for the law enforcement profession and the person behind the badge
- Future-focused growth grounded in real-world demands
- Clarity over overwhelm
- Relationships matter; at home and on duty
- Sustainable leadership that lasts beyond the role
